The Douglas DC-3 is one of the most iconic aircraft in aviation history, revolutionizing air travel and cargo transport since its debut in 1935. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp radial engines, each producing 1,200 hp, the DC-3 could carry 21 to 32 passengers or up to 6,000 lbs (2,700 kg) of cargo. With a cruising speed of 333 km/h (180 knots) and a range of 2,400 km (1,300 nautical miles), it offered unprecedented reliability and comfort for its time.
