      IL76

The Ilyushin Il-76 is a heavy military and commercial transport aircraft developed by the Soviet Union and produced by the Ilyushin design bureau. First introduced in 1974, the Il-76 was designed to carry heavy cargo and equipment to remote and undeveloped airstrips across the Soviet Union and beyond. The aircraft is powered by four Soloviev D-30KP turbofan engines and is capable of carrying up to 50 tons of cargo over a range of approximately 4,200 km. It features a high-wing design, a pressurized cargo hold, and a rear loading ramp, enabling the rapid loading and unloading of military equipment, vehicles, and humanitarian supplies. The Il-76 has been widely used for military airlift, firefighting, scientific research, and commercial freight operations. Several variants have been developed, including the Il-76MD with improved engines and range, and the Il-76MF with an elongated fuselage. The Il-76 has seen service with dozens of operators worldwide and continues to be an important heavy transport aircraft.
