      A340-500

The Airbus A340-500 was a long-haul passenger aircraft that was introduced in the early 2000s. Like its sibling, the A340-300, it was designed for intercontinental flights, but with an even longer range of up to 8,000 nautical miles (14,800 km), making it ideal for ultra-long-haul operations. The aircraft was equipped with four engines, providing reliable and efficient performance. The spacious cabin of the A340-500 could accommodate up to 375 passengers in a two-class layout, or up to 440 passengers in a high-density configuration. The aircraft was equipped with advanced systems, including a glass cockpit, advanced navigation and communications equipment, and modern in-flight entertainment systems. The A340-500 was popular with a few airlines, especially those looking to connect distant destinations with non-stop flights. However, with the rise of more fuel-efficient aircraft, the A340-500 was retired by most airlines and is no longer in production
