DragonWings Air Force One VC-25A Project Cutaway

Dragon continues Project Cutaway with an exciting new 1/144 scale model of Air Force One. The cross-sectional nature of this model reveals much of the interior of this highly classified aircraft. The cabin has a new layout in keeping with its specialized function, quite different to the first item Braniff 747-100 cutaway model. Even the wings and engines, as well as the fuselage, receive the fascinating cutaway treatment! It's not easy to see, let alone get aboard, these US presidential aircraft, but now collectors can keep their own personal Air Force One on their desks!

Air Force One is the official air traffic control call sign of any United States Air Force aircraft carrying the President of the United States. Since 1990, the presidential fleet has consisted of two specifically configured, highly customized Boeing 747-200B series aircraft - tail codes Special Air Mission (SAM) "28000" and SAM "29000" - with Air Force designation "VC-25A". While these aircraft have the call sign "Air Force One" only while the president is on board, the term is colloquially used to describe either of the two aircraft normally used and maintained by the U.S. Air Force solely for the president, as well as any additional Air Force aircraft used by the president.

      B747-200

The Boeing 747-200 is a medium to long-range wide-body commercial airliner that was introduced in 1971 and was in service till the 1990s. It was an improvement over the 747-100 with a longer range, larger fuel capacity and a more advanced avionics system. The aircraft could accommodate up to 416 passengers in a typical two-deck configuration and was popular among airlines for its high-capacity and efficiency. The 747-200 was used for both passenger and freight transportation, with several airlines using it to serve long-haul routes. The aircraft's distinctive humped fuselage design made it one of the most recognizable aircraft in aviation history
