KC330
The KC-330 Cygnus is a military aerial refueling and strategic transport aircraft operated by the Republic of Korea Air Force, based on the Airbus A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) platform. First delivered to the ROKAF in 2019, the KC-330 provides South Korea with its first true strategic aerial refueling capability. The aircraft is equipped with an advanced aerial refueling boom and underwing hose-and-drogue pods, enabling it to refuel a variety of receiver aircraft simultaneously. In addition to its tanker mission, the KC-330 can carry cargo and up to 300 troops, providing important strategic airlift capability. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 772 turbofan engines and based on the A330-200 wide-body airframe, the KC-330 offers outstanding range and fuel offload performance. South Korea acquired several KC-330 aircraft to extend the operational range of its fighter fleet and enhance its ability to project air power across the region. The KC-330 represents a significant upgrade in South Korea's air refueling and strategic airlift capabilities.
