HS121C
The Hawker Siddeley Trident 1C is a short- to medium-range, three-engine commercial jetliner produced by the British manufacturer Hawker Siddeley. The Trident was first introduced in 1964 and was developed primarily for British European Airways (BEA). The Trident 1C variant was the initial production model and is powered by three Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan engines mounted at the rear of the fuselage. It has a seating capacity of up to 139 passengers in a single-class configuration. The Trident was a technologically advanced aircraft for its time, featuring one of the first fully automatic landing systems, which allowed it to land in near-zero visibility conditions. The aircraft served predominantly with British carriers and saw limited sales overseas due to its specialized requirements. Although the Trident had a relatively short production run, it was an important aircraft in the history of British aviation and made significant contributions to the development of automated landing technology.
