SF34
The Saab 340 (SF340) is a twin-engine turboprop regional airliner developed jointly by Saab of Sweden and Fairchild of the United States. First introduced in 1984, the Saab 340 has a seating capacity of up to 37 passengers and is powered by two General Electric CT7-9B turboprop engines. With a range of approximately 900 nautical miles, the aircraft is optimized for short-haul regional routes connecting smaller communities to major hub airports. The Saab 340 features a pressurized cabin, advanced avionics, and a reliable airframe that has earned a strong reputation for dependability in demanding regional operations. The aircraft has been operated by hundreds of airlines and regional carriers across the world, including in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Africa. Several military and special mission variants have also been developed, including the Saab 340 AEW for airborne early warning. Saab took over full production after Fairchild withdrew from the program in 1985. The Saab 340 remains one of the most successful regional turboprops ever produced.
