      USAF 48th TFW, 494th TFS Panthers, #72-1450, RAF Lakenheath, England, 1992

      The 494th TFS "Panthers" / 48th TFW moved to RAF Lakenheath, England in January 1960. The squadron flew the General Dynamics F-111F Aardvark between 1977 and 1992 andre-equipped with the F-15C in 1994. F-111F 72-1450 had been assigned to the 493rd TFS but was transferred to the 494th TFS for deployment during Desert Storm. 72-1450 was later transferred to the 524th FS "Hounds Of Heaven" until 1996 when it was sent to AMARC for storage pending a possible sale to Australia but was scrapped in 2010.
