The de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter is a rugged, twin-engine short takeoff and landing (STOL) utility aircraft introduced in 1965. Designed for versatility and reliability, it can operate from short, unpaved runways, water, or snow using interchangeable landing gear. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A turboprop engines, each producing 620-750 shp, the DHC-6 can carry up to 19 passengers or 2,700 kg (6,000 lbs) of cargo. With a maximum takeoff weight of 5,670 kg (12,500 lbs), a cruising speed of 315 km/h (170 knots), and a range of about 1,400 km (750 nautical miles), it serves both civilian and military operators worldwide.
