C140
The Lockheed C-140 JetStar was a twin-engine (later four-engine) business jet and military transport aircraft developed in the late 1950s. It served as one of the first dedicated jet transports for the U.S. Air Force, used primarily for executive and VIP transport, including Air Force Flight Check and calibration missions. Powered by four Pratt & Whitney JT12A-8 turbojet engines, the C-140 had a maximum takeoff weight of 15,875 kg (35,000 lbs) and a range of 3,200 km (1,730 nautical miles). It could carry up to 10 passengers with a cruising speed of 870 km/h (470 knots). Known for its distinctive wingtip fuel tanks and swept-wing design, the C-140 JetStar combined speed, range, and reliability for both civilian and military operations.
