KC46A
The Boeing KC-46A Pegasus is a modern multi-role tanker and cargo aircraft developed for the United States Air Force, based on the Boeing 767-200ER commercial airliner. Entering service in 2019, the KC-46A is designed to replace the aging KC-135 fleet and provides aerial refueling capability to virtually all U.S. and allied military aircraft. The KC-46A is equipped with a fly-by-wire boom system, advanced remote vision systems for the boom operator, and both boom and hose-and-drogue refueling systems, enabling it to refuel a wide range of receiver aircraft. It can carry up to 212,000 lbs of transferable fuel, transport 65,000 lbs of cargo, or carry up to 114 passengers. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW4062 turbofan engines, the KC-46A has a range of over 10,000 miles when not carrying transfer fuel. The aircraft is equipped with modern avionics, defensive systems, and enhanced cargo handling capabilities, making it a versatile and capable asset for strategic mobility and power projection operations worldwide.
