      B737-900ER

The Boeing 737-900ER (Extended Range) is the definitive high-capacity variant of the Boeing 737 Next Generation (NG) family, introduced in 2007 as an improved version of the 737-900. Key enhancements over the -900 include the addition of two auxiliary fuel tanks for extended range, two additional exit doors permitting operations at full passenger capacity, and the fitment of blended winglets as standard. With the ability to carry up to 220 passengers in a high-density configuration and a range of approximately 2,950 nautical miles, the 737-900ER provides airlines with the greatest capacity and flexibility of any 737 NG variant. It is powered by two CFM International CFM56-7B27A turbofan engines. Lion Air of Indonesia became one of the largest 737-900ER operators, using the type for high-frequency domestic and regional services. Delta Air Lines and Korean Air have also operated significant fleets. With over 500 aircraft delivered, the 737-900ER proved considerably more popular than the original -900 and remains an important aircraft in airline fleets worldwide.
