      Aircraft #61-7967 rolled off the assembly line on April 18th, 1966 and first flew on August 3rd, 1966. In March, 1968, it was the third blackbird to transfer to the 9th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing's Detachment #1, based at Kadena AFB on the island of Okinawa, Japan. It received tail-art in the form of a yellow lightning bolt across a large red number 1, for Detachment 1. After nearly 32 years of service, #967 was one of the last SR-71s to be retired in 1998, having logged a total of 2,765.5 flight hours. It is currently on display at the 8th Air Force Museum at Barksdale AFB, Louisianna.
