DC-10-10

The McDonnell Douglas DC-10-10 was the initial production model of the DC-10 series, introduced in 1971 and optimized for domestic and medium-range routes. It was powered by three General Electric CF6-6D turbofan engines, each producing 40,000 lbf (178 kN) of thrust, providing excellent reliability and performance. The DC-10-10 typically seated 250 to 270 passengers in a two-class layout and had a maximum takeoff weight of 199,580 kg (440,000 lbs). With a range of approximately 6,100 km (3,300 nautical miles) and a cruising speed of 917 km/h (495 knots), it was primarily used by U.S. carriers such as American Airlines and United Airlines. Its spacious cabin and efficient design helped define the wide-body jet era of the 1970s.
