      DC-10-15

The McDonnell Douglas DC-10-15 was a specialized variant of the DC-10 series, developed in the late 1970s for high-altitude and hot-weather operations. Often referred to as the "Hot and High" DC-10, it was powered by three General Electric CF6-50C2F turbofan engines, each producing 51,000 lbf (227 kN) of thrust, providing improved takeoff performance under demanding conditions. The DC-10-15 typically seated 250 to 270 passengers in a two-class configuration and had a maximum takeoff weight of 263,000 kg (580,000 lbs). With a range of approximately 6,100 km (3,300 nautical miles) and a cruising speed of 917 km/h (495 knots), it was primarily used by Mexicana and Aeromexico, offering reliable service on routes through high-altitude airports such as Mexico City.
