F28
The Fokker F28 Fellowship is a twin-engine, short-haul regional jet developed by the Dutch manufacturer Fokker. First introduced in 1969, the F28 was designed as a jet-powered successor to the turboprop Fokker F27, offering improved speed and passenger capacity. The aircraft has a seating capacity of up to 85 passengers and is powered by two Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan engines. The F28 features a T-tail design and a high-wing configuration, allowing it to operate from shorter and less-prepared runways. It was widely used by regional airlines and national carriers in Europe, Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia. With over 240 aircraft produced, the F28 was a commercially successful regional jet that helped Fokker establish itself as a major player in the regional aviation market. Although production ended in 1987, many F28s continued in service for decades, valued for their robustness and versatility in challenging operating environments.
