      F50

The Fokker 50 is a twin-engine turboprop regional airliner developed by the Dutch manufacturer Fokker as a modernized successor to the highly successful Fokker F27. Introduced in 1987, the F50 features Pratt & Whitney Canada PW125B turboprop engines, a redesigned glass cockpit, and improved passenger cabin with seating for up to 58 passengers. With a range of approximately 1,500 km, the aircraft is designed for short- to medium-haul regional operations. The Fokker 50 is known for its reliability, fuel efficiency, and ability to operate from shorter, less-developed airstrips, making it a popular choice for regional airlines and operators in developing markets. Although Fokker ceased operations in 1996, a significant number of Fokker 50s remain in active service with airlines in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. The aircraft is remembered as one of the most capable and enduring regional turboprops of the late twentieth century.
