      The McDonnell Douglas MD-10F is a wide-body cargo aircraft produced by McDonnell Douglas and subsequently modified by Boeing. The MD-10F is a freighter variant of the DC-10 trijet wide-body airliner, featuring a large main-deck cargo door, a strengthened floor, and a cargo handling system designed for containerized and palletized freight. The aircraft is powered by three General Electric CF6 turbofan engines and has a maximum payload capacity of approximately 170,000 lbs over a range of 3,800 nautical miles. Boeing developed an advanced two-crew glass cockpit upgrade for the MD-10F, allowing the aircraft to be operated without a flight engineer and reducing operating costs. FedEx Express has been the primary operator of the MD-10F, using it as a key element of its international cargo network. The MD-10F provides a cost-effective high-capacity freight solution, and its conversion from older DC-10 airframes has extended the useful life of an iconic wide-body platform.
