C5M
The Lockheed C-5M Super Galaxy is a modernized strategic airlifter used by the U.S. Air Force, upgraded from earlier C-5 variants. It features four General Electric CF6-80C2 (F138-GE-100) engines, providing greater thrust, fuel efficiency, and reliability. With a maximum takeoff weight of 381,000 kg (840,000 lbs), the C-5M can carry oversized cargo, including tanks and helicopters, over intercontinental distances without refueling. It has a range of 8,890 km (4,800 nautical miles) with a full payload and cruises at 919 km/h (496 knots). The aircraft includes a distinctive nose that opens upward and a rear cargo door, allowing for fast loading and unloading. The C-5M plays a vital role in rapid global mobility and military logistics.
