      Inflight USAF McDonnell Douglas KC-10A w/stand 79-1948 1:200 Scale

Since 1995 KC-10's have been based at Travis Air Force Base in Northern California. On September 26, 2024, they held a farewell ceremony for the Air Force’s last KC-10 Extender, a refueling tanker that served for 44 years.

The final KC-10, tail number 79-1948, took its last flight to the Davis-Monthan Boneyard in Arizona.

79-1948, fleet number 91948, was delivered to the United States Air Force in July 1982 Known for its immense fuel capacity and comfort, the KC-10 supported numerous missions around the world, including Operation El Dorado Canyon in 1986, the longest fighter combat mission in history. The aircraft was nicknamed “Gucci 10” and “Big Sexy,” and became a symbol of excellence at the 9th Air Refueling Squadron, where “Gucci” became a motto of pride. Though retiring, the KC-10’s legacy continues with the newer KC-46 Pegasus. Each model will be supplied with a limited-edition keyring

      KC10A

The McDonnell Douglas KC-10A Extender is a military aerial refueling and cargo transport aircraft operated by the United States Air Force. Based on the commercial DC-10-30CF wide-body trijet, the KC-10A entered service in 1981 as a complement to the existing KC-135 fleet. The aircraft is capable of transferring up to 356,000 lbs of fuel using both a flying boom and hose-and-drogue refueling systems, allowing it to simultaneously refuel aircraft from multiple nations and services. In addition to its tanker role, the KC-10A can carry up to 75 personnel and 170,000 lbs of cargo, making it a highly versatile strategic airlift asset. The KC-10A is powered by three General Electric CF6-50C2 turbofan engines and has a maximum takeoff weight exceeding 590,000 lbs. With a range of over 4,400 miles unrefueled, it can deploy rapidly anywhere in the world. The KC-10A has been a critical asset in numerous U.S. military operations and continues to serve as a key component of the Air Force's aerial refueling fleet.
